Examples of Digital Stories and their importance in learning

Telling stories are a very popular form of communicating, from the peoples in Native America to the gossip in the faculty room! Being able to tell a story clearly connects with all levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy, especially when the end of the story is a creation by the student of a possible new ending.

Online digital story programs

For PC users, one of the best online story programs is Photo Story III! Students can add their own photos, audio and titles.

For a Mac or a PC, Animoto is another popular digital story program. This one does not have all the features as Photo Story III so a story can actually be made quickly. (this use to be free but now there is a fee.)

Garage Band in the Mac is very useful too, you can create a Podcast! More on that one, later!
And don’t forget the Power Point presentation that can have pictures so riveting that this very simple format cannot be taken lightly!
